Google analytics

Google Analytics Reports are an essential tool to help you shape your marketing strategy and choose the moves that can bring more traffic to your website.

The main advantage of Google Analytics is that it can provide detailed insights into website performance. However, being able to obtain and utilize this information can sometimes be quite difficult for someone who is just starting out. This is why this guide was created to guide you through the first steps of getting to know Google Analytics reports.

The reports are divided into 4 main categories:

Audience reports
These reports provide valuable information about website visitors, in simple terms, through them we can learn how visitors arrived at the website, as well as the language they speak. Another interesting piece of information is how many times in the past the visitor had come back, as well as the browser they are using.

Acquisition reports
Acquisition reports show everything related to your website traffic and mainly how visitors end up on it. More specifically, you can see the main categories of traffic, such as organic, referral and direct, as well as more specific sources responsible for the traffic. By selecting the “Referrals” field, you will also be able to find out about the websites and social networks that send the most traffic to your website.

Behavior reports
Behavior Reports concern the behavior of visitors during the visit. Through these reports, we can see which pages they visit as well as the time they spend on each page. Through the Overview option, we can get an overview of all visitors, the most popular pages as well as those that function as entry and exit gates for visitors.

Conversion reports
The fourth category of reporting concerns conversions. That is, it provides you with all the necessary information about how effective the website is in terms of the conversions it achieves. The “Funnel Visualization” section will show you the stages that users follow during the conversion process. If you have an e-shop, then it would be a good idea to also monitor the “Ecommerce Report”, which provides you with information about the buyer’s journey, from the moment they enter your e-shop until the moment they complete a conversion  as well as the Ecommerce Tracking.
