To Tsikoudo
The "To Tsikoudo" meze restaurant website

To Tsikoudo is a traditional meze restaurant on the main harbour front of Chios, on Aigaiou Avenue. Marinos Haviaros, a seafarer and father of Kostas — who now looks after the place with the same care — opened it in 2006. We created the website from scratch, in Greek and in English, starting with the photography of the space and of the menu itself.

The website is there for the practical things: where the place is, the mezedes, the opening hours and the phone number for bookings. For the look, we stayed true to the shop: the green of the logo in the headings, and small ornaments dividing the sections, like a printed taverna menu.

The experience is made above all for the phone: the menu, prices included, opens easily from the waterfront, before anyone has even sat down.

The price list went online in full, with prices, category navigation and allergen labelling! Salads, cold and hot starters, grilled dishes, fish — with the drinks list alongside.

On its own page, To Tsikoudo tells the story of its name: the tsikouda, the fruit of the tsikoudia tree that grows only on Chios. And bookings happen the way they should at a meze house — by phone; on the contact page we added a map with the exact spot, and a form, so a request can also arrive in writing.
